Greenlight believes in creating and supporting readers from an early age. We offer programming and activities for kids from babies to teens.
Babies to Age 3:
Singalong with Jarrod
2:30 PM Every Friday
In response to popular demand, Greenlight is delighted to offer a weekday activity for our littlest neighbors every Friday! Join us in the kids section for 40 minutes of favorite songs and stories, led by Greenlight bookseller Jarrod and his trusty guitar.
Sunday Baby Story Time and Songs
11:00 AM Every Sunday
On Sunday mornings, a rotating cast of children's performers take turns keeping babies and toddlers under 3 years old entertained with stories, songs, and interactive play. Check our Events Calendar for an updated schedule of performances. Baby Story Time is geared toward the very youngest bookstore fans, and is often quite crowded – come early to get a seat! (Please leave strollers at home if possible – thank you!)
Ages 3 to 8
Saturday Author Story Time
11:00 AM Every Saturday
Saturday Story Time is geared toward kids ages 3 to 8 and their families. Authors and illustrators of picture books often visit us on Saturdays to read from their new books, and neighborhood performers or the Greenlight staff sometimes read as well. There are always great stories and often activities and crafts too! Check our Events Calendar for an updated schedule of featured authors. Saturday Story Time is geared toward kids who are old enough to enjoy listening to a story, asking questions and working on crafts.
Ages 8 to 14
Greenlight Young Readers Book Group
Fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM
Led by Greenlight bookseller and former teacher Brette, this book group is geared toward kids ages 8 to 14, and reads great contemporary and classic chapter books. Parents are welcome (but not required) to attend; pizza is served. Check our Book Groups page or the Events Calendar for information about current book group picks, which are always discounted 15%.
