Myla Goldberg discusses her novel The False Friend with memoirist Darin Strauss
Brooklyn author Myla Goldberg (author of the bestselling novel Bee Season) celebrates the release of the paperback edition of her new novel The False Friend with a reading and conversation at Greenlight. The novel tells the story of two girls, friends and rivals in high school, and what happens when one disappears and the other has blocked out the memory of what happened. Years later, the surviving friend returns to their hometown to try to discover the truth, with powerful consequences. Goldberg discusses her novel with her friend and fellow author Darin Strauss, novelist and author most recently of the memoir Half a Life, which tells the story of his own coming to terms with the dark secrets and traumas of his youth.
